Dr. Vasiliki Renieri joined the Department of Neurology at the Centre Hospitalier de Luxembourg (CHL) in June 2026 as a Specialist in Neurology.
Dr. Renieri graduated from the Faculty of Medicine of the University of Crete and obtained her specialist certification in Neurology from the Greek Board of Neurology. She also holds a Master's degree in Sleep Medicine from the Democritus University of Thrace.
She completed the majority of her neurology residency at Papageorgiou General Hospital in Thessaloniki, a tertiary referral centre, where she received comprehensive training in inpatient and emergency neurology, stroke care, movement disorders, dementia, headache disorders, and neuromuscular diseases. During her residency, she also trained extensively in the Clinical Neurophysiology Laboratory, gaining hands-on experience in electromyography (EMG) and nerve conduction studies (NCS). She additionally completed part of her neurology training at Chania General Hospital in Crete.
Her main clinical interests include clinical neurophysiology, neurodegenerative diseases, particularly movement disorders and dementia, as well as sleep medicine. She has further strengthened her expertise through advanced training programmes organised by the Hellenic Society of Clinical Neurophysiology and the European Academy of Neurology.
Alongside her clinical work, Dr. Renieri has authored and co-authored several peer-reviewed scientific publications in international journals. Earlier in her career, she worked as a research associate at Qcell, a spin-off company of the Technical University of Crete, contributing to biomedical research projects. She has also been actively involved in the teaching and supervision of junior physicians during her residency.
