Conférence : Precautionary Allergen Labelling - The approach in the Netherlands

The associations Luxembourg Allergy Network Asbl and ALIG (Luxembourg Association for Gluten Intolerance) are pleased to invite you to a conference they are jointly organizing on November 14, 2024, at 5:00 p.m. in the CHL amphitheater.

The Dutch Allergen Consultancy will be presenting a new policy concerning "Precautionary Allergen Labelling" (PAL), that will come into force in the Netherlands on 1 January 2026. This policy aims to set out and adjust the reference doses, status and wording of the PAL, which unfortunately is often used too extensively by the food industry and therefore considerably limits the choice of products for allergic or intolerant consumers.
The consultant of the Dutch Allergen Consultancy will explain how they drew up the policy, what it entails and what action is needed on the part of the food industry and other stakeholders and hopes that it could serve as an example that will be followed in order to ensure harmonisation across Europe.
